35 Village in 24 Hours

On the 7-8 of August - Josie, her mum Chrissie and Sprite the dog will relay walk through 35 villages in 24 hours in the Peak District, taking on the challenge to raise funds for United World College in Norway and Bakewell based charity, Village Aid.
Recently Josie was selected as one of two British students to represent Britain at the Red Cross Nordic United World College. The UWC delivers a challenging and transformative educational experience to students from all over the world, while inspiring them, through engagement in community-based projects, to create a more peaceful and sustainable future. “Whilst at the college I am involved in teaching yoga to patients at the local hospital, working with refugee families and teaching climbing to local school children. I am developing a theatre piece with friends to take around local schools about the stories of the refugees. “For more details see http://www.uwc.org/.
The money raised will be shared with Bakewell’s very own charity, Village Aid, which works with small community-based organisations in 5 West African Countries. Funds raised will be going towards the Sally Koroma orphanage in Sierra Leone, supporting the educational needs of 250 children aged 8 – 15.
“We
have chosen to take on this challenge to try and in our own way to make a
difference. Both UWC and VILLAGE AID are amazing small charities whose work
truly transforms the lives of both individuals and communities. We strongly
believe in education as a force to unite and a force for change.” So please
support us by donating below.
Thanks,
Josie and Chrissie
